Covid compliant Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur 2020 special mini-services (20 minutes) on nearby Herzlia field

This is a challenging year – we can’t hold services indoors, so we are having 20-minute mini-services on Herzlia School’s Van Riebeek Sports Field – the entrance is near 9 Serpentine Road, Oranjezicht - opposite the corner of Sidmouth Avenue and Serpentine Road.

Each service is only 20 minutes, and seating will be socially distanced on the spectator stand in front of the sports field clubhouse. On Rosh Hashana 2nd day (Sunday 20 th September) there will be shofar blasts, a short piece of the shul liturgy, and a mini-sermon. (As its Shabbat there is no shofar on 1st day Rosh Hashana this year)

Similarly, on Yom Kippur – each service is 20 minutes, so please come on time. Please note that we will have the mini-services whatever the weather. These arrangements have been approved by our medical and health authorities. Those attending must wear a mask, must not congregate in groups to chat to friends, and must arrive and disperse promptly. All are welcome, no booking or notification needed. Covid monitors will direct participants to ensure Covid compliance.
